Environmental Management System (EMS)

Administrator Training

Unlike the EMS Operators course, this course is a two-day course at the premises of Adroit in Fourways. Each candidate will have their own PC to work on as this is a hands-on training secession.

The purpose of the training is to enable system administrators or technicians who are computer literate a greater understanding of the Adroit EMS system. It would be of greater benefit if the candidates have attended Adroit basic and advanced training but this not a pre-requisite.

This would include the following:

Introduction to Adroit architecture and capabilities
Adroit hardware requirements.
Security, Users and Groups

SQL and reporting are pre-installed on the candidate’s workstation as this could take up too much time and is covered in other courses offered by Adroit.

Each candidate will create their own hierarchy with the end goal to configure a sensor that is connected to the training area network. There are a number of different sensors and different telemetry networks in the training facility that candidates can connect to as part of the training course. It is not possible to make available all industry sensor and telemetry configuration in the training facility. Discuss your requirement with Adroit prior to the training.

Each candidate is encouraged to work through the exercises in the manual to gain experience with the EMS system either individually or in groups. This is an ideal opportunity to discuss any problems they are encountering with their system and to seek guidance from the developers and experts based at the Adroit premises.

Reporting

Reporting tools are discussed and if there is enough data generated in the system used for the training, these reports are extracted and the results analyzed and discussed with the candidates.

Operator Training Course

New users of the EMS system and is aimed to give the candidate a general understanding of the EMS system and how to interpret and operate the user interface. Geared primarily to users of the system such as operators. Which will include the following:

Practical demonstration with working EMS system with generic Smoke, CO, CH₄ and Velocity sensors.
